The lacquer is coming off all around the horn, there is an obvious solder repair on the connector for the first valve slide and the bell crook, a few small ping dents on the valve slides and on the bell. The mouthpiece receive curves into the horn ever so slightly. Again, it looks like it got crunched at some point, but it doesn't seem to affect the playing at all. At some point it looks like the bell got crunched. This cornet is dated to the 1950's(serial is 449849) This cornet has seen a lot of action. This is a pro model Conn Recording Cornet. Jump in and get it quick! Good Luck! Economy Shipping in the United States. Includes case and like most Recordings, I and the previous owners have taken pretty good care and the item looks and plays great. The horn is a rare Olds Recording Cornet and is from the late 1960s and the pictures are of similar models(Recordings By Olds) I have happy customers all over the world when it comes to musical instruments.

The horn has great compression and all slides are well-greased. I am selling the Cornet which is well taken care of and will shine up pretty nice. more Please note: I have included pics of both the Trumpet and Cornet so that you can see the difference between the two.

As I said I, I play the trumpet& cornet and am fortunate to have other similar, and rare, instruments of this same vintage so I'm offering this at a bargain price. It has about 85% or more of the original finish and I'm usually able to get similarly-aged trumpets to look pretty good. Being vintage it does have rub marks throughout. Still relatively shiny and looks absolutely fantastic on stage.

I love to collect and play cornets and trumpets and I tried this one and it plays fine. The cornet is part of the trumpet family and produces a noticeably warmer sound and cornets by this company are considered must-haves by collectors and professional musicians alike. Up for auction is a vintage mid/late 1960s professional F.E.Olds& Son Recording cornet I acquired at an estate sale.
